Since my Perl experience is very limited, I chose to follow the
instructions on http://www.openhandhome.com/howtosa250.html, which are
limited to SA 2.5x. If memory serves me right I think I tried a newer
version of SA, but I it failed during the make process. 

I would be happy to upgrade if anyone could point me to a how-to.

I still think there must be a configuration error somewhere. Perl.exe
using 125 MB is just ridiculous.
