Thanks, Got spamd working now will see how it works when server fetches the overnight mail block. Where does spamc find the 'white list' does it get it from individual user_prefs. e.g. /home/user/.spamassassin/

Thanks, Just had a look at the spamd documentation but there doesnt seem
to be an example for setting up the spamc client. Is it easy to
implement for system wide use?. At present I have 5 users on the network
each with a procmailrc file calling SA.

There is no real setup for spamc, the daemon does most of the work.

If your users are physical users on the system, they'll have a .spamassassin directory already. spamd/spamc will know how to work with this automatically.

If your users are virtual, you'll want to look at the virtual user config, or sql options.

Since you say procmail, I'll guess you have physical users, and therefore, just replacing spamassassin with spamc (and making sure spamd is running) should be all you need to do.

If you understand perl, find the spamd code and read it :) You'll see how it handles real users vs virtual users.
