the mail server is receiving mail from multiple hosts
i DON'T want to spam scan mail FROM a particular host delivering mail to my mail server
below is an example of my /etc/tcp.smtp
:allow,QMAILQUEUE="/var/qmail/bin/qmail-scanner-queue" 127.:allow,RELAYCLIENT="",QMAILQUEUE="/var/qmail/bin/qmail-scanner-queue"
Can't help you much on that end - perhaps someone else here can. But if it helps or gives a clue, SpamAssasin only scans what it's told to scan. The other option is to add a whitelist entry, however you're then still scanning the messages you don't want scanned.
