Note that the subject says "notify the RECEIVER", not the sender. But I still think it's a bad idea. If the virus was successfully deleted, why bother the intended recipient about it? The days of real user-to-user emails with an added-on infection are also over, for all practical purposes.
Don't "bug" the receiver, but track the data and give them a report periodically to show how your support system is keeping spam and viruses out of their mailbox. I'm sure most users don't realize the volume of crap that's being filtered, esp. for a system that's been in place for awhile.
