Quoting Chris Santerre <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:

I have sent the author a nicely written email. I tried to enlighten him to
the error of his ways. I bet I don't even get a response :)

I thought about this as well, but decided against it. Maybe we all should write
up a quick email...dunno

Either way, i find it interesting that the review is of 3 pieces of software:

1. SpamAssassin
2. Product that uses SpamAssassin
3. Product that uses SpamAssassin

Does anyone else find this weird at all? I could be crazy (most likely) but to
me this is kind of like reviewing ....lets say a BMW car engine for arguments
sake. Then we'll also throw in a BMW (whole car, including extras) and maybe a
Mercedes which also happens to have the same BMW engine in it (work with me
here).

So we would have:

1. BMW Engine
2. BMW car which uses engine above and has other accessories
3. Mercedes car which uses BMW engine above and has many other accessories.

So we would review these products and then come to the conclusion that the
latter 2 are better than the first because its difficult to drive around town
using the engine.

Now i suppose its slightly exaggerated but its just to prove a point. How can
one review a product and compare it with 2 other products each based on the
first but has other extras? Of course they are going to appear better. Now if
he just would have used spamassassin with those extras as well (for free) it
would have most likely beaten the other products and cost a hell of a lot less
in the process.

Bah, reviews really suck sometimes. Maybe i'll start publishing some of my
own....
