Is it normal to have to crank the required_hits setting up to 10 before ordinary mail gets through?
I just started using Spamassassin to filter a pop account on an ISP connection. The ISP's spam software was stopping about 3,000 spams a month, but another 3,000 or so were still getting through. I spent the day tweaking their settings and mine both. I am now down to only a few dozen a day getting through from the ISP, but everything that did get through was going straight to the spam folder unless it was caught by another filter first. I had to put the filter that calls Spamassassin dead last in order to let _anything_ through. I finally got one regular email through with required_hits set to 10 and I only tried that after reading about someone else's setting things too high on the list. Lee -- L.
