It's a word, I don't think there's anything > in Leviticus or the Koran saying you can't say or use the word. i think its one of those american internal issues that americans always seem to talk about when it comes to political correctness. here in europe, ham has no meaning other than food. not to mention that some countries are just openly hostile towards the english language (like the french) so i wouldn't worry about the extra meanings of ham.
