As free software, the notion of support is somewhat different than if you bought commercial software. The actual code is available for you or anyone else to modify. As for why it's no longer actively developed, there are a couple reasons. One, those of us who were working on SpamBayes have moved on to other things (not necessarily in the spam filter space, just moved on). Two, other tools have gotten better. A lot more spam is caught and rejected before it reaches the end user, and spam filters associated with some email services (such as Gmail) have gotten quite good. There is less need for standalone spam filters like SpamBayes. If you download and install it, you might well find that SpamBayes works as well as it ever did. If you have problems, you can still send email here. There are still users who answer the occasional question which arrives. Skip
