The Product Manager will own and drive the requirements and product/market definition for TRUSTe's existing and new privacy and certification programs. Current initiatives with email /anti spam and B2B privacy products. Works closely with the Policy, Compliance, Marketing and Engineering teams, to define, develop, and launch programs that are consistent with TRUSTe's strategic goals. The ideal candidate will have launched successful internet or technology products and/or services, and been responsible for product life-cycle management, launch, revisions and maintenance.

Primary Responsibilities

New Product/Service Development

* Identify market needs for new products/services and define initial scope
* Prepare internal presentations and documents summarizing product and market data
* Identify potential partners and/or funders
* Work with policy and compliance to determine consistency with other products and address any regulatory issues
* Manage and report on cross-functional product development meetings
* Develop with senior management, business plan
* Develop implementation and roll out plan


General Product Marketing

* Product ownership from concept to customer delivery and support
* Develop and maintain Business and Product Requirements Documents (BRDs, PRDs) and Functional Specification.
* Serve as a company liaison between marketing, policy, and product development
* Work with engineering to determine feature trade-offs against schedule/scope/resource and other constraints
* Develop support offerings and support customers and partners as needed
* Perform product demos as needed in sales calls and trade show settings
* Assist with third party marketing programs
* Solve a broad range of problems varying in scope and complexity


In addition, the candidate may be called upon to drive and/or participate in activities as assigned.

Preferred Skills and Experience
* 5+ years experience in product management and/or product development
* 2+ years in product life-cycle management
* Experience with email related products a plus
* Ability to work closely with software engineering team
* Successfully developed and marketed emerging technology products and services
* Successful experience working at large technology companies as well as start-up experience
* Undergraduate degree BS/BA required.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills - working closely with executives, sales team and C-level customer constituencies
* Excellent writing skills across the spectrum of product management deliverables
* Excellent problem-solving management and team building skills, and a sense of humor
