> [SC-Help] Spam Date Strategy > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >The spammers are beating your system by changing the dates of the spam. Your p >rogram only processes spam which was sent within the last few days, so the spam >mers are dating their spam earlier. See: > >http://spamcop.net/sc?id=z18941057z470ae46c4303f1b0725606648ab71175z > >This spam was sent/received on 4/24 or 4/25/1 The problem here is the Received line applied by sonic.net . Since it erroneously fails to report the IP of the machine from which it received the email, Spamcop disregards its date and anything else in that line. Spamcop then looks at the line applied by polygon.com.tr, which obviously has the wrong date. What's really nutty is: How can the same spam simultaneously be "too old to file a report" and at the same time earn a "Yum this spam is fresh"? SC apparently did consider either sonic.net's date or psi.net's date when awarding the "Yum". I also wonder: Since SC traced the origin to psi.net, why did it not use psi.net's date to determine that the spam is not too old? _______________________________________________ SpamCop-Help mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://news.spamcop.net/mailman/listinfo/spamcop-help
