At the moment we are trying fail2ban in combination with spamdyke. This should (IMHO) reduce memory usage. Please refer to: http://notes.benv.junerules.com/all/software/qmail-spamdyke-and-fail2ban/
Additonally we added another rule which also blocks DENIED_RBL_MATCH. This works quite fine for us.
