HELP!
I started with 2500 contacts. Now in two days I have so many
duplicates Address Book has more that 6500 with 3, 4, or 5 for many
contacts.

I use MobileMe and Spanning Sync. Was that mistake #1?

Spanning Sync has worked for several years with my calendar, making
some duplicates upon occasion, but essentially works well.

Not so with contacts.

I wanted to use Spanning Sync because my Google Apps mail and contacts
was what I used most but because I have an iPhone, it taps the Address
Book, so I said, OK, let's try the new contact synchronizer in
Spanning.

Strangely, my iPhone is not showing duplicates, just the Address Book.

I am thinking part of the problem is Google Contacts has cards with
just email address and no name. When they get moved to Address Book
and iPhone, I delete them. But they come back. I have deleted some
rogues repeatedly but they find their way back.

I choose for the Address Book to find and merge duplicates. I think
that is part of the problem.

Everything is a mess and I don't know where to begin to get back to
what I had before -- two unsynchronized address books -- one Mac's and
the other Google's.
