There definitely seems to be something amiss with mine as well (and it's true the G1 actually shouldn't be a factor). Contacts and Calendar synched with iCal but NO future events in iCal got into Google Calendar. I don't know how to proceed from here to get those events copied. My initial sync took less than an hour, I think. When I was using Mark/ Space to sync my iPaq to the Mac, there was a time when the iCal data got corrupted and exponentially increased syncing time. I got everything into the iPaq, then deleted the iCal calendars and all sync files, then resynced and all was good since then.
So if there's any solution to not getting future events migrated, I'd really like to know it!
