Hey guys/girls. I would suggest using Nuevasync for the gmail to iPhone portion. It works flawlessly. As a side note, in SS, I using the setting for 'preserve address book data' and both gmail and the iPhone don't have an issue with the extra data (the unicode garbage). And no, you don't have to give them your gmail password..
