I'm having the same issue. I generated and sent a report. I went through all the advice i could find and then uninstalled/reinstalled and still no joy with calendar, and now contacts images won't synch from google to iCal.
Any chance of a follow up and let us know the result of the OP's issue? If it was something, i would have found the answer here.
