So as far as I can tell, two issues stemming from the option to
preserve Apple Address book details occur in the contacts pane inside
gmail (and now google voice), and when using the desktop google talk
client.

The two issues:

In the gmail contact pane:
Searching for contacts using names does not work very well. You could
type the contacts exact name and not get any results. Auto comple
does work though in the quick search bar for the webpage chat box.

In Google Talk Client:
All contacts have extra spaces or empty characters in the names. I am
guessing this is what is screwing up the search function in google
contacts.

I am about to try using the computability mode to see if this clears
things up but I was wondering if there was any documentation that goes
over how that setting works. One question that comes to mind is will
all my contacts names in Apple Address book have to have their name in
one field or will spanning sync attempt to maintain those fields as
long as there are no changes on the google side?
