After upgrading to Snow Leopard I had a bunch of problem with Address book that turn out to be a "smart group" that the system didn't like. Along the way of diagnosing the system lockup; I had to reset Spanning Sync because it was hanging the system. I have version 3.0.1 (420) installed; when I try to sign in I get "An unknown error occurred. Please check your network settings." which at that point leaves me dead in the water.
