Wow after battleing that for a day; I noticed the log was complaining about not trusting the SSL Cert from https://secure.spanningsync.com/
So I went there with safari and marked the certificated as always trusted and that fixed the problem after several keychain prompt and authorizations. Snow Leopard really doesn't like those cheap GoDaddy Class 2 SSL's I've been getting lots of prompts about them.
