MobileMe Calendar Beta does indeed convert your calendars to CalDAV,
which are then forced read-only since Apple currently doesn't allow
any sync clients to change that calendar type. We're hopeful that
Apple will remove that restriction at some point. Also, please
realize that the new MobileMe Calendar Beta, is just that, Beta.
We've also seen some bugs with it that breaks syncing of any calendar
type as long as you're using MobileMe Calendar Beta. If you don't want
to experience problems syncing your calendars, I'd suggest staying
away from the beta.
