Hi Byron, thanks for the reply.  I am trying this approach--true, not ideal, 
but it's the best option.

I logged out of the preference pane, then tried to install a second license 
(albeit as a trial version, since I want to test this workaround before 
paying). It seems Spanning Sync only wants to replace the existing version, 
and not add a second account. The message is:

"The preference pane you are installing is already installed. Do you want to 
replace the existing preference pane?"

Can you advise?

Please note I'm trying to do this within my single user on my Mac, rather 
than create another user profile.
