Hi Byron, Well I think I have a workaround.
I _can_ create two Spanning Sync accounts in the same preference pane by, as you said, signing out and then signing back in with a different email address. BUT, Spanning Sync apparently won't sync contact GROUPS between my Address Book and my Google Apps account. So here's what I did: 1) Export the Address Book group I want to sync exclusively, and save the file to Shared Docs on my hard drive. 2) Create a new User on my mac. 3) Login to the new user account, find the shared file of contacts, and drag and drop it into the Address Book. Address Book should contain only these contacts. 4) Open Spanning Sync Preferences. Since this is a new user, I am not logged in as anyone. Set up a Spanning Sync profile (right now on the 15 day trial; I will have to pay for this eventually). 5) Set Spanning Sync account to sync my contacts with my Google account. I chose "never change address book" just to keep things foolproof. 6) Done. I can go back to my regular user on my mac, and, logging in to my Google Apps account, send a MailChimp email to my newly-populated (and exclusive) list of contacts. The upside: I don't have to log in and log out of Spanning Sync; it will keep my separate user identities synced as I wish. And while I have to pay for Spanning Sync twice, I do NOT have to pay a monthly subscription fee to my current bulk email service, since I can use the free MailChimp integration with Google Apps. And best of all, I can manage one mailing list which is now the same on my computer and my bulk email service. The downside: Every time I want to send a bulk email, I have to export my contact list and update it on my computer (from one user profile to another). To be foolproof, I will need to erase the existing data and update it from scratch. Will MailChimp freak out if I essentially erase my contacts and repopulate my address book? I know they will penalize me if users report me as spam... so there are some unknowns there. Just to be sure, I'll keep my current bulk email service, and try to use this solution using Spanning Sync. Long term, it would be great if Google Apps and Spanning Sync could sync Address Book _groups_, and then we wouldn't have to create workarounds like this.
