Hi all,

I´m trying to use the Xpresspeptideparser to quantify dimethylated peptides
- For the peptide search I used two independent searches (labeled K was set
as static mod and the the labeled n-Term and acetylated prot N-term were
set as variabel mod) under Comet (2018 rev. 1) and XTandem (Jackhammer).
After peptide validation and merging the searches with peptideprophet and
interprophet I ran the Xpress option from the commandline.

Most of the ratios looks fine, but some of them needs to be reevaluated by
eye -

So there are two questions regarding the pepXML Viewer:

1. I noticed the huge increase in the original pepXML. The file was about
250 mb before I started evaluating the ratios, but after checking several
of them, the file is now almost 1 gb. I wonder if it is possible to prevent
the increase of the file size or if its possible to split the file pep.xml
in several pepXML´s of less size?

2. The updating of reevaluated ratios in the original pepXML files takes a
lot of time and it is not possible to update two ratios at the same time.
Is there anything what one can do to speed up the process?

Thanks in advance,

Cheers
Max
