An interesting question

up on some SPDX-related work a colleague and I have done, and I wondered if
perhaps there was a general topic here. The basic question was:
Does SPDX have a similar JSON API that can be used to fetch licenses?
[“similar” here refers to the GitHub License API
<https://developer.github.com/v3/licenses/>]
Is there a plan for such a thing? I realise this can be emulated quite well
via HTTP requests to the SPDX license-list GitHub repository
<https://github.com/spdx/license-list> (and in fact that’s exactly what we’re
doing), but a more traditional public API might help encourage adoption. wdyt?
