On the security assignment performance question- the best thing to do is
make sure that you are using a non access backend and to confirm that the
registry setting outlined earlier is configured correctly.  These two things
account for nearly all of the 'horrendous' cases of WT performance (things
like pages takes 30 seconds, etc. . . )

Both of these are taken care of?

I know, I know :-). I've actually developed our own code to replace most
Webtop facilities, but replacing this one seemed a complex task for
something I would want to do very infrequently. I just wondered if there was
a way of speeding up the webtop for this one thing, since something appears
to be slugging it.
