I guess you mean SourceSafe explorer, not SourceSafe administrator?

VSS integration in CF studio is a bit flakey, to put it mildly. You
can use CF projects to facilitate checking in and checking out but
1) this does not work if your projects resides on an UNC share and 2) the
project file format has changed between 4.0 and 4.5 so you get into very
deep trouble if developers who use 4.0 mix with the 4.5 people.
So I nowadays tend to favor the 'use studio from sourcesafe explorer'
approach. VSS explorer gives you a much nicer view of the state of things,
and reduces the chance of accidents.
