As an update to this, it doesn't appear to be so simple! While the above
worked for one machine here (see Log 1 below), when we tried this for
another machine, authentication failed with the same error message that we
were receiving when the ODBC source was using SQLServer authentication (Log
2 - note the mysterious user '/'). No amount of stopping and restarting
services, deleting and recreating the datasource or even rebooting the whole
machine seems to get it to behave as it should.

Has anybody else had any experience of this, positive or negative?
