In my view developers need to have the proper training. This is now a five
day course.
My experience with good CF developers skipping the training is that whilst
they might be able to complete phase one of the project, they may not
implement things in the best manner. The project sponsor may be left with a
domino effect of work arounds simply because the developer did not
understand how to implement a feature of Spectra in phase one.
The installation of version 1.5 is a vast improvement on 1.01, so take
Matt's comment with a little grain of salt. However do make sure you use
version 1.5.
Training for content providers is minimal as long as they are not introduced
to the WebTop. Give them a customised view of the WebTop. This is easier in
v1.5.
On going support varies. Spectra sites by their nature, are sites that
expect to make a lot of changes. Many sites are cautious about empowering
content providers as much as is possible with Spectra. The nature of the
changes and the level of empowerment that is delegated, determine the level
of support required.
