Charles and the rest of Macromedia,

Now that you have addressed the developement community, how about addressing the
customers who actually spent the money on Spectra and paid the developers, in many
cases, to learn Spectra and to program their applications. I hope I speak for all of
the customers who read this group.

I think there are three additional messages necessary

1) a technical paper from your group that address a roadmap for existing sites through
Neo with details of how it is going to be possible to move forward without completely
rewriting our applications. There needs to be an option of staying with community
source but also for a migration to whatever new architecture you are moving toward.

2) a message from the VP for Sales on what you are going to do for us who have
maintenance and were expecting to be getting a COMPLETE content management system with
personalization in the Dharma release. In your message you indicate "...as well as
delivering next generation dynamic content technologies
such as end-user content contribution and team production through a series
of new product initiatives." which I read to mean, you will now have to pay for new
products that you would have otherwise received under your Spectra maintenance
agreement. Hopefully something is going to be done to make this bitter pill a little
sweeter for those of us who heavily invested in the Spectra vision.

3) a message from the VP for Support indicating what level of support will be provided
for those customers who have annual support contracts and if this is going to be
deprecated, then what remuneration we will be accorded.

I think the new combined company can do many great things in the future - I hope you
do right by your existing loyal customers as well as by your developers.
