I posted a message to this list a few days ago to see if anyone had tried an
alternative, in particular, the Webworld Studios Custom Security for
Spectra.

So, in an attempt to get some feedback here is the message again:

Has anyone on this list looked into this alternative to SiteMinder and, if
so, do they have any comments they would like to share with the list? The
forums at wwstudios has very little feedback.

And here is the one solitary reply I received:

Considering how difficult SiteMinder is to get
working with Spectra on Solaris, it may not be a
bad alternative. However, I have heard anything
at all.

Subject: Please Please Please Lose SiteMinder

Hi.

Can we please get rid of this SiteMinder mess? Yesterday I spent yet
another agonising number of hours troubleshooting a CF5 installation on
Solaris with Siteminder. That software is so prone to problems it
isn't funny. I don't know what deal Allaire/MM have made with Netegrity
but I do hope that it does not mean that Siteminder will always be
a requirement for Spectra.

So can we please get a bit of sanity and revert the fatal mistake of
bundling SiteMinder with spectra? I can only speak for myself of course
but I think that everyone on this list has the same feelings.
