I am running SunOS 5.8, CF 5.0, Spectra 1.51 (patched from
SpectraSource), CODB's on MS SQL 7.0, Netscape LDAP 4.11 on Win 2K.

Let me set the stage:

Yesterday I got the following error a while after having installed the
latest from SpectraSource:

lock error
CFLock cannot be used to lock the application or session shared scopes
without these scopes being established through the use of the
CFApplication
tag. You must use CFApplication and specify an application name to use
the
application scope. If you want to use the session scope you need to
enable
session management as well. Application and/or Session variables must
also
be enabled in the ColdFusion Administrator.
The error occurred while processing an element with a general identifier
of
(CFLOCK), occupying document position (85:1) to (88:56).

It happened twice: immediately after installing the patch
(installer.cfm) and the
second time was about an hour later when trying to re-login to the
webtop (I couldn't even get the login screen.

For whatever reason (probably harking back to my NT roots) I decided to
restart the CF service.

That's when things got really bad.

At this point I can not start Siteminder. It says "Registry failed to
start. Unable to start SiteMinder."

Anyone got a clue where I go from here????
