Hi all,

This question is addressed to everyone, but I'm hoping Raymond Camden, Rob
Brooks-Bilson, or others who are more intimately involved with the future of
CF/Spectra could throw in their 2 cents!

We are wrapping up work on a corporate intranet written completely within
the Spectra framework. We've done our best to stick to the coapi as opposed
to the webtop in an effort to make the transition to CF6 more seemless
(given that new major releases of the Webtop will not be available 1-2 years
out) - so site management, display, etc. is done in a custom interface apart
from the Webtop utilizing the coapi. We've also tried to avoid the direct
use of cfa tags that don't appear to be slated for inclusion in the CF6
coapi. Has the definition of the coming CF6 coapi achieved any more clarity
over the past few months? Also, because Spectra _rocks_ considering its
price point, extensibility, and core capabilities, and the clients own
experience working with the developing version of their new intranet - they
are looking at using Spectra for additional internal sites and projects
separate from the primary intranet. We are wondering whether it would make
more sense to hold off on these projects and build them using CF6 and the
new coapi once that becomes available this coming year (will the changes be
major enough that it would be simpler to start fresh then develop for
CF5/Spectra and then need to redevelop for CF6), or if we should dive in and
develop in Spectra now and transition to CF6 down the road.

Cheers,
Seth
