a) We are a community and we keep growing the code base to our needs, so
the Spectra codebase isn't _completely_ dropped.

b)  The next version of ColdFusion (Neo) will be able to run Spectra.

c)  Neo will have Spectra-like functionality built in and Macromedia is
interested in offering CMS-like tools if the market will pay out.

d) Object-like application frameworks for CMS are the way to go.  (IMHO)

So overall Spectra is a pretty good choice if you can get past the
Advanced Security Installation. :)
