neil, We have not made many changes in the code since we made it available because we realized we'd be porting our Spectra code into the Neo environment which would have its own security model.
In the meanwhile, we've continued to use Custom Security with ongoing projects and haven't had any particular problems with it. (As I recall, we included a list of limitations or possible issues with Custom Security in the documentation which would need to be considered when deciding whether to go with it.) We should have more data on all of this in the next several weeks as we begin to test some of these things on Neo.
