Derek,
Your CF4.51 should migrate to CF5. Spectra 1.01 will migrate forward to CF5.
Advanced security versions have changed between 4.51 and CF5. But, there is a
migration tool to migrate you forward. There are no other migration issues I know of
as you go from 4.51 to 5 (just recreate your collections under CF5).

The userdirectory between CF 4.5x and CF5 is unchanged. There is no userdirectory
migration necessary from 4.5 to CF5 needed. Of course, if you are one of those MS
Access diehards, now is probably a good time to migrate to an enterprise dbms or ldap.

The policy store database did change between CF4.51 and CF5. A migration tool was
provided to migrate your policystore from CF4.51 to CF5. Problems were found with
this migration tool. See KB 21551 "ColdFusion 5 (Windows Only): Advanced Security
Upgrade Issues." This KB describes the 2 issues found with policystore migration and
gives the fixes.

Policy store migration is only required if you have created a significant number of
rules and policies for your application under CF4.51. If not, just create a NEW
policy under CF5 rather than migrate your old policystore forward. Webtop security
does not migrate forward and must be recreated.

So CF5 will run Spectra 1.01, 1.5 and 1.51. If you are a 1.5 customer it is strongly
recommended that you upgrade to 1.51 since there are hundreds of fixes and
enhancements in 1.51. Also, all fixes released on Spectrasource are for 1.51 only.

Subject: Upgrade CF451sp2 to CF5?

If I upgrade CF451SP2 to CF5, what parts of Spectra are going to die?

My Verity Collections?

My Advanced Security?

Currently I'm running Spectra 1.01 and would like to eventually get to 1.51.

Derek
