Sometimes you just have to avoid contentObjectGetMultiple and do a straight SQL query against the properties table to get things fast. Figure out which COGetMultiple is taking the time and look at what it is trying to get. This may help understand the speed issues. If you don't directly call it, what methods are your containers using that do call it?
