Maybe some people stick with it because they have a bunch of customers and code on it? And it's free and freely modifiable. It isn't exactly Windows for Workgroups. Sure the thing was written on 4.5.1 and doesn't take advantage of the newer stuff. With minimal modification of tags you can implement things like QoQ and UDF (etc, etc). Ultimately I'd like to switch to something else, but that means convincing customers to pay for a switch.
