RE: [spectrum] Security Strings on TopOrg Containers.

I ran into this issues also and did not like the way the hierarchies
combined security strings so I changed it.
I forget were I found the info initially but it involved using the model
type editor to change the default security model's attribute that defines
how security strings are combined.
Hope that helps.

RE: [spectrum] Security Strings on TopOrg Containers.

Hello,

Thanks fort he hint, but this is not possible.
After changing the string manually to ???String1 | Strin???ÿ?, Spectrum
changes the String t???ÿ?String1 & String2??? automatically.
I think the problem is the inheritance from the Org_Owns containers. If a
device is placed in 2 containers, Spectrum merge the security strings
automatically with the AND operator.

I do????t find any variable / option to disable the????featu???ÿ?. Setting
the Secstrings on the device directly is not an option, because I want
secure the containers also. L

Regards

You can manually change the string on the device to String1 | String2

Hello List,

I have following problem:

I use the TopOrg View in Spectrum OneClick and build an organisation view
following:

Organisation - Department 1 - Org_Owns 1
Organisation - Department 2 - Org_Owns 2

The both Org_Owns Container contains some devices. I secured the container
with a security string: "String1" for "Org_Owns 1" and "String2" for
"Org_Owns 2". No problem for devices which are placed in one of the
containers.

If I have a device on both containers, the inheritance for security
strings produce following on the device:

"String1 & String2"

The departments share some devices, so that different users need access to
this device. User1 should manage the devices in Org_Owns1 and User2 the
devices in Org_Owns2. Works fine, but the shared device cannot managed
from one of this users, cause no user have both Security Strings. If a
user would have both stings, he can see both Org_Owns - containers.

My question is now:
1.) Anybody knows a solution, to uses to TopOrg View with the scenario
described above?
2.) Does the inheritance works correct? I think the inheritance should
produce a Security String on the device like
"String1 | String2"
3.) Can I configure the inheritance behaviour?

Thank you fort the help.
