I remember we have seen values like that in the past too. Seemed like it mostly happened with gigabit ports where the counters were going through the max and rolling over back to 0. Since we started using snmp v2 polling with the high capacity counters in spectrum 9, I haven't seen any more of these alarms. I don't know if you are having the same issues, but check to see if you are using snmp v2 polling.
