What type of log files, text, event log, etc..?

All, Presently we're using MOM 2005 to create Log Files Scrapes for specific text patterns. I'm curious to know if anyone else uses a simpler tool that integrates with SPECTRUM to scrape LOG Files on servers running Windows. We have many servers in our environment that are running some "flavor" of Windows, and MOM isn't the easiest nor most user-friendly product to configure. A simpler solution that can be customized per server would be ideal. Other than SysEdge, what do you use? Your help is appreciated.
