If you need to limit the connections and especially in an NATed environment I would recommend an SDC (Secure Domain Connector).
For reference which ports are needed check out the Distributed SpectroSERVER Administrator Guide (2770.pdf) There is an Chapter "Communication Across Firewalls in the Distributed SpectroSERVER Environment". TFTP will only need to be allowed from the device to the Spectro server. You will also need to think about allowing for any integration you have such as to eHealth or Service Desk as this will require additional access.
