All,

We are in the midst of a dual upgrade. Spectrum is going from 8.1 to 9.1.3 and
MOM is becoming SCOM. During our testing, we learned that SCOM uses the FQDN
in its discovery process. The SCOM connector from CA captures the "principal
name" field which contains the FQDN. When it attempts to match the model to
Spectrum, Spectrum generates an alarm because it was not modeled with the FQDN.

While I know I can model a device with the FQDN (adds a minimum of 16
characters to the model name), I would like to know if anyone out there has
integrated SCOM with Spectrum 9.1.x?

IF you have, are you using FQDN for all your Spectrum models too (in 8.1 we
didn't use FQDN in our environment)?

Thanks for sharing.

Sincerely,

Fred
