Rob, we've been running NCM for at least 18 months now, and, after some buggy behaviour in 8.x, it's running smoothly in our 9.1H14 environment. No performance issues so far, and it's quite a helpful thing if you once had Cisco Works, gave that up and struggled with mass switch configurations by hand for a while. :-)
Of course administration is in the usual "man, can't CA do something intuitve once in a while? ... no, wait, that's great ...hey, never thought it could be done this way!" manner, that is it takes a while to get an idea what's really behind all this device family stuff, to figure the advantages of doing config policy checks on Global Collections and stuff like that.
