I agree. I have opened a case with “please explain this seemingly stupid idea”. If you have an option to archive data, I would expect a “click here to use the archive database” type option on reports, or that would be default. Knowing that would slow down reports, since you are no longer using one table. Worse still, you can run a Year-to-date report with 30 days archiving turned on. That gives you **very misleading/false** data, since from Jan to May will be 100% perfect.
