We have about 2,000 servers at our site and have standardized on the
SystemEdge agent for Spectrum and eHealth. Last time I looked we had
about 1050 SE models in Spectrum so far. One of the team is adding a
Monitored Disk model for each filesystem (local) but more recently we've
taken to creating rule sets (Locator-->System and App Monitoring-->All
Rulesets) and then placing these in Global Collections. Then any model
added to the GC inherits the Rule Set.
Last I looked we had over 6,000 Monitored Disks. Thinking about this
some, this might be a bit much. (this is across two Landscapes/SS) Each
Filesystem model has to be be queried, and then the threshold calculated
(85/minor; 90/major; 95/critical) against. While not as "expensive" as a
SpectroWatch, I'm thinking there could be a considerable cost to this
but how much?
Anybody been down this road already?
