We added the commands to the post_olb_script. We backup DDM daily, but on Saturdays, after DDM backup, we stop Archive Manager, run optimize.pl and maintenance.pl, and restart Archive Manager. It takes about 20 minutes to process our DDM, your time may vary. During that time, you will get an alarm: Lost Contact to Archive Manager.
