All,
This is what we finally found for AIX 6.1 snmp configuration after working with IBM. In snmpd.conf file there are only two relevant lines: syslocation "your_location" syscontact "your_contact" snmpdv3.conf -- 1. You cannot have a community string starting with capital alphabet like *Readonly*. 2. In community line communityName and securityName should be *same* (would have never figured it out by myself). So a community line should like as below: (this explains why public public was always working) COMMUNITY readonly readonly noAuthNoPriv 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 - Saurabh Bohra O: 860-766-0842 | M: 860-385-3597 | e-mail: [email protected] -----Original Message----- From: Alexander R [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Friday, March 23, 2012 5:55 AM To: spectrum Cc: spectrum Subject: Re: [spectrum] Monitoring AIX 6.1 from Spectrum On Fri, Mar 16, 2012 at 9:56 PM, Bohra, Saurabh <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> wrote: > Alexander, > > Thanks for sending these sample files.
