For example, look at the third case Chris describes here:

Now try this on a scrambled cube:
B' R' (Chris's orientation parity fixer) R B

Saves four moves compared to Chris's suggestion :-)

Btw I'd execute it a bit differently (I like pulling U2 with left 
index+middle fingers):

x' U' R' (Rr)2 U2 x U2 (Ll) U2 (Rr)' U2 (Rr) U2 x U2 (Rr) U2 (Ll)' D2 
(Ll)2 R U x
