Hey everyone, I am by no means an expert at the F2L. I think I used to average around 11-12 seconds before switching to opposite color + Xcross combo solving.
Well I took an F2L average tonight and am now sub-10! All I changed from my 11-12 second averages was to add in opposite color solving. Now I am pretty nearly 1-(1-x)^2 times more likely to get good solves (where x is my good solve frequency on one color) as I used to be. That is very, very noticeable!! Of course I can't always notice well setup Xcross's on my opposite color, but I can always spot a good cross. I hope to change that soon with more practice and always spot the good opposite color Xcross solves. Anyway here was the average: 11.50, 8.86, 9.69, 10.18, 10.78, (7.20), 9.41, (12.68), 11.20, 7.94, 9.62, 8.36 = 9.75 seconds The thing is, I am not a sub-10 F2L solver if I solve the same color every time. However, with the combination of opposite color as well as Xcross, and not just Xcross, I can now call myself a sub-10 F2L solver :-) Think what you already sub-10 solvers could do with opposite color solving ;-) Chris ------------------------ Yahoo!
