That's exactly how I did it at the World Champs when I popped during 
the second cube of the second round.  I had to chase the edge piece 
that popped across the table, reinsert it, finish solving, and if I 
remeber right, I had to reorient it at the end too.  Ended up with a 
26.89 time.  Ouch!
