You're not going to answer his one in a hurry! Chess has had the same discussion for generations. The only thing I think you can say is that individually there is no reason for either sex to be better than the other (personally I'd say the Polgars - especially Judith - have demonstrated this in chess) even thought there might be good reasons - social or otherwise - for men to be more interested.
